First of all, Paul was a confrere's confrere. He loved the community and he was dedicated to helping confreres in whatever way he possibly could. He was kind and generous. He was also a very good confessor. I will personally miss him.
During my years of provincial administration, I found Paul to be a great help with canon law. When we had a thorny problem, he would carefully consider all aspects before he would venture an opinion. He was particular about details, but always fair and above all, charitable. The Congregation and the Church has lost an excellent canon lawyer.
May he rest in peace!
